
Sheri Hellard – Bio
Sheri Hellard began her producing and directing career in 2000 with the short film “Jack & Jill.” The film went on to win the Audience Award at the prestigious Hampton’s International Film Festival. Sheri then directed several music videos and in 2002 made her feature film directorial debut with Porchlight Entertainment’s “Mothers and Daughters” starring Sally Kirkland and Tom Bosley. In 2006 Sheri teamed with Leslie Zemeckis for the mocumentary “Staar: She’d Rather Be a Mistress” starring Carrie Fisher, Fabio and Jeffrey Tambor.
In the spring of 2008 Sheri shot the 20 episode web series “Space Lift: Feng Shui Your Home” for production companies 60 frames and Living Image Entertainment. Between 2008 and 2010 Sheri produced and lensed the documentary “Behind the Burly-Q” with Leslie Zemeckis directing and Robert Zemeckis executive producing. “Behind the Burly- Q” tells the story of the history of burlesque in America. It can currently be seen on Showtime and Netflix. In 2012 Sheri again teamed with Leslie and Robert Zemeckis for the documentary “Bound By Flesh” which was acquired by IFC for Sundance Select and opened to rave reviews in theaters in June of 2014. “Bound By Flesh” is the life story of vaudeville superstars and conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton. It won numerous awards at film festivals including Best Documentary at the 2012 Hollywood Film Festival. She currently is working on her third documentary with the Leslie and Robert Zemeckis.
